I work to help artists, students, writers, and organizations realize their most important projects, from book-length memoirs to personal statements to competitive grant applications.

ARTISTS & STUDENTS: As a writer and writing instructor deeply engaged in the visual arts, I’m uniquely qualified to help artists across disciplines develop artist statements, impact statements, cover letters, and other written materials for residency applications, college/graduate school applications, grant proposals, masters’ theses, and exhibitions. Feedback generally includes ideas for elaboration, cuts, or organizational changes, while line-level edits are intended to help you articulate your points in fluid, grammatically correct sentences.

WRITERS: Manuscript coaching and developmental editing tailored to serve your vision across a range of forms. “Coaching” addresses both the process and content of your work in order to help you manage your writing time, set realistic goals, solve structural problems, hone craft techniques, and overcome roadblocks. “Developmental editing” is helpful for those seeking guidance throughout the revision process. Ideal for writers engaged in book proposals, novels, essays, personal narratives, and memoirs.

PROFESSIONALS & NON-PROFITS: Drawing on years of professional copywriting experience, I understand the importance of concision, clarity, and tone in informational and persuasive copy. I’m experienced in composing and editing grant proposals, press releases, mission statements, and newsletters. For copy already in its final stages, I offer flat-rate copyediting and proofreading according to Chicago Manual of Style guidelines or your institution’s particular style guide.
